Two communities, one faith. This is our story.
In 1904, Irish and German miners working in Morris County iron mines built Sacred Heart with their own hands.
When Latino families began arriving in Dover, Bishop James McNulty established a mission for them. In 1984 it became an official parish: Holy Rosary.
On August 15, 2018, the Feast of the Assumption, Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli signed the decree officially uniting both parishes.
In December 2025, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney presided over the celebration of 125 years of Mass in Dover.
Our goal was always to bring more life to both parishes.— Father Brendan J. Murray, 2018
