1904

Miners build their church

In 1904, Irish and German miners working in Morris County iron mines built Sacred Heart with their own hands.

1959

Latino community finds a home

When Latino families began arriving in Dover, Bishop James McNulty established a mission for them. In 1984 it became an official parish: Holy Rosary.

2018

One family

On August 15, 2018, the Feast of the Assumption, Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli signed the decree officially uniting both parishes.

2025

125 years celebrated

In December 2025, Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney presided over the celebration of 125 years of Mass in Dover.
